ouisiana Wetlands are a giant tangle of canals, swamps and forests of palm and cypress trees that extend around and beyond the great Mississippi estuary, often unhealthy, populated by numerous snake birds, alligators and poisonous spiders. In autumn the great cypress trees are colored and this apparently hostile environment shows all its beauty. Pictures taken in the Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana, near Plaquiemine, Lake Fausse and Lake Martin. I took this picture at dawn, while I was sailing with a boat, inside the swamp. The light began to heat the trees and lighten the fog when I noticed this tree only inside the swamp, isolated from the fog. [+]
