There are such breath-taking views that one is waiting and hunting for. They seem to be at our fingertips, and yet they deftly elude, leaving us disappointed or even frustrated. Especially when we realize that some people are lucky enough to grab this dream frame just like that. Ah, Aurora, Aurora. Beautiful and often elusive. Sometimes barely visible, sometimes seductive, a ghostly flicker dancing to brighten the sky. In fact, you don’t feel like taking pictures, you just want to watch the spectacle across the night sky. It took me four trips to the Arctic Circle to finally find catch the Aurora successfully. By the way, I also caught a piece of the Milky Way :) But I promise - this is not my final word. Hey, Aurora! See you later :) And for those searching for answers how this photo was shot, some technical stuff may prove useful. The photo is a vertical panorama composed of 3 horizontal frames. Each shot was sharpened separately, so it's manual focus stacking. The parameters are as follows: 1st frame: 299 sec., f/4, ISO 1250, 14 mm 2nd frame: 15 sec., f/2.2, ISO 2500, 14 mm 3rd frame: 15 sec., f/2.2, ISO 2500, 14 mm --- Lofoten, Norway, February 2018 ©2018 by Rafal Nebelski I kindly ask not to use this image on websites, blogs or other media without my explicit permission – All Rights Reserved.
