Perhaps nothing is more thrilling in this world than seeing the newest land on earth being formed before your eyes. Following a long hike out to the lava flow from Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii, I was lucky enough to witness a beautiful ocean entry with friends and professional photographers Bruce Omori and Tom Kuali'i. As night gave way to the blue hour light, the contrast with the orange lava was captivating. A dynamic and dangerous environment to shoot in, but one that makes you feel completely alive. [+]

Seeing a lava flowing is an exceptional experience, Miles. You have transformed this visual experience into a photographic masterpiece. The mix of the orange of the fire and the blue of the water is fascinating. Congratulation.
