Situated at a few miles from the Hamlet of Grise Fiord, This beautifull iceberg was capture after a few trip to select the fact light that will allow ton reveal its True refractions. Its rare that we allow ourselves to those many trips, as polar bear are present on the ice flow. In 2014, there were a number of icebergs caught by the winter season, but our too short stay have prevented any quality photographic adventures

We were lucky, we were in Grise Fiord for 2 days and it gave us the time to be at the right place at the right hour. Its good to share Nunavut or True North
It seems as if this incredible and rare piece of ice was a diamond that was lost in the Arctic, half covered by the snow. How lucky you were with this discovery Michel ! You have made a fascinating image with a relevant choice of the light.
We saw the iceberg in the airplane approach pattern. The difficulty was the several walks to the iceberg and the perception of risk. Icebergs go thought a cycle white snow, partial transparency and melting. The chance was somehow being there at the right period and making the efforts of travelling with related equipments.
