This photography was done in San Quirico d`Orcia on a cold April morning of 2018. I traveled from Portugal for a week photographing in Tuscany. I decided to go to photograph the Cypress of San Quirico at sunrise. The shooting was done in one of the best places to photograph the cypress trees, but it is on a viaduct with a significant amount of traffic which means that there must be a lot of care while we are photographing. There are other possible perspectives, but this was the one that seemed the best. The dawn of this day was made with some high clouds that provided this image having quickly disappeared and left a clear sky, yet with very beautiful light.
The composition was almost intuitive even though I tried other different compositions, those beautiful trees were the main subject, however, the foreground of freshly plowed land worked very well for the texture, while the sky offered a beautiful background. I immediately thought I had an image with potential when I registered it. I used Canon a lens 24-105mm at 45mm.
Post-processing is a full part of the photographic work. Editing is always a very creative process. I usually let the image guide me to a final result, there is always an aesthetic and creative sense imposed by the image itself. Other times I know exactly what I want from an image, I already have in mind how I want a certain image to be after being edited, this, in my opinion, is always a greater challenge since when we have something predefined, we cannot always achieve it, or because the light does not suit what we have imagined, or because the composition is different from what it seemed to us when we were shooting, in short, it is always very challenging but passionate too.
San Quirico d`Orcia is a jewel box for photographers, it`s a place where you will find stunning landscapes to photograph everywhere. [+]
