Sprinkled was made in Utah in October of 2024. I had no formal plan in mind when I found this scene, although I had flown down from Canada in order to specifically photograph the fabulous Aspens of Utah with their incredible yellow leaves. While shooting this image, I really wanted to convey the feeling of "order in chaos". I loved the simplicity and delicacy of the final framing. The distribution of the yellow leaves in front of the vertical trunks appealed to me very much. After getting the image on my computer screen, I cropped it into more of a pano, as there weren't many leaves at the bottom of the frame and I wanted an even distribution of yellow throughout the image. The warmth of the leaves and the coolness of the trunks was increased in Photoshop by minimally reducing the temperature which made the trunks look a bit cooler. The complimentary colours in these scenes work very well together. I watched the Histogram very carefully when working on this image, making sure that I didn't over-expose the leaves. I try to have a very light touch while processing and saturate my images very little, if at all. I was very happy with the final result. [+]
